Festival Organizers

Rolf and Eileen

Rolf and Eileen Eileen was born in England and Rolf in Germany, we met in Canada and married after 3 months of knowing each other. Rolf and I are now in our 45th year of marriage. In our years together we have been involved in many businesses, events and fundraisers and lots of volunteer work. Some of the events I hosted have been for the "Children of Chernobyl" Rolf and I did this for 6 years and brought 3 children over for health respite each year. The other was for "Children's Wish Foundation" another worthy course.
In Toronto I had an Arts and Craft Store and a Health Food Store, then moving to Ottawa we opened a Restaurant which I loved and after another move we settled in our retirement home or so I thought. "Whispering Pines" quickly became a people place and has been a Camp for the past 18 years and has hosted many wonderful Festivals and it has become home to many people whom I love dearly. "Music in the Pines" has been a dream for many many years and it's about time it came to light. We are so excited about it and with so many wonderful people involved how can it not be a success. We both look forward to meeting and welcoming you all to "Music in the Pines" and hopefully you will join and become part of our growing family.

Event Coordinators

Natalie Côté

Nathalie Aka "Za Big Boss"! She can be easily recognized by the radio that is permanently fuzzed to her ear. Do not be fooled by her calm and cool exterior, within she is a seething mass of nerves, and a frazzled mess… just kidding. Nathalie is in fact, our most competent event coordinator. You may see her running around, ordering us about, but have no fear… we enjoy it! She can often be seen in the company of her lovely assistant, Nissa, who is usually running frantically on a errand for her harsh Task-Mistress… just kidding. Nathalie has been involved with various festivals for the last 15 years. Her deep love of music and community has guided her to our doorstep, and we are most grateful.

As your Fest Crier, Hobbes' duty will be to keep you up to date on what's happening and when. He may even be coerced into telling a tale or three when the time is right.

Security

Shammy - Head of Security

Shammy Do not be fooled by her youth and beauty! She is actually our very charming and competent head of security. She has been involved with various festivals for over a decade, and has been with Music in the Pines since its creation. When she is not chasing after over excited artists at our festival, she spends her free time working as a police officer. But she will tell you that her true calling is to be here, with her feet in the sand, sipping tea in the garden... now if only she could remember where she left her handcuffs.

Maintenance

Brendan Roche

Brendan Roche "A can of WD40 and a roll of Duct tape that's all you really need to fix anything" so say's Brendan.
What he doesn't say is that it takes organizational skills, calmness and the ability to be in at least 3 places at once, a be prepared attitude, and most of all the ability to make people think that they really want to do the job assigned to them.
Brendan knows his job as he has been Festival Maintenance Guy for many many years and all we can say is, "What would we do without him"

Fire Keepers

Justin, Rory and Jaime

Justin Justin Yatkowski and Rory Elliott are two great but shy guys. So we will have a give a little info about them. They are both outdoor men and love camping Summer and Winter. You can always find them getting ready for an outdoor activity and walking in the woods.
Justin has a son just reaching the terrible 2's and loving it.
Rory has just announced the coming of a baby and he can't stop smiling. Congratulations.
Justin and Rory have been Fire Keepers at other Festivals and do a great job, we are lucky to have them aboard. Other Festival activities they are taking on are construction of vendor shelters and are available and ready for anything needed of them.
Thank you Guys.

Justin Jamie is a Tilesetter from Muskoka, who's spiritual path is as winding as Muskoka's back roads and he has followed this winding path most of his life. He was new to the festivals when he joined us last year and now he's a permanent fixture and a positive addition to our crew.

Children's Program

Robyn Mulcahy

Robyn Mulcahy Hello and welcome to Music in the Pines Children's Program!
We have an adventure filled schedule that includes puppetry, felt stories, parachute games, tie dye fun and Tea with Teddy. The children will each be provided with a canvass and paints on which they can produce a masterpiece to place in the children's art gallery. The children will parade in costume to the opening with cookies and lemonade to greet them!

About me: I have fifteen years experience working with children and a love of the outdoors. I have a diploma as a Child and Youth Worker and well as my Early Childhood Education. I am currently a preschool teacher for a Reggio inspired school and will have the fabulous help of high school students earning their volunteer hours. I am looking forward to meeting you and your child (ren) and creating a welcoming space to create and discover!
